Milking the crowd for all its worth

I have spent the day at the World Internet Summit in Auckland NZ. It is a forum for speakers to promote their wares while also providing some information for beginner and experienced Internet business owners and marketers alike. Today one of my favourite speakers was a guy by the name of Shaune Clarke.

Shaune Clarke had appealed to me earlier in the day when he had made it clear he was an intelligent man during the line up of speakers in the morning. His presentation confirmed that suspicion. His content was densely packed and full of insight in to the human condition. A copywriter Shaune takes coaching programmes on turning interviews in to content. That is probably an extremely cursive description however exactly what he does is not the subject of this post and you can Google him to find out more or go to his website ShauneClarke.com

The subject for this post is the skill with which Shaune milked the crowd which was remarkable. The energy radiated by the audience during his talk was awe inspiring. During his talk he spoke about Emotional levels running from 1 - low to 7 - almost unattainably high. He says getting people to a 5 on that scale will give you the kind of unique content you need to make his strategy the super success it has been for him, evidently. When he gave and gave and gave without hesitation, built rapport and added value the energy of each of us in the room became so intertwined that when he finally pulled the string away - and by that I mean no longer fully disclosing the system, giving us the full information and spelling things out clearly - instead rushing through the trap had been laid. For sure this is what all good sales presentations do but the skill with which Shaune created such a high level of rapport and crowd interaction was astounding. Congratulations Shaune, you've got my vote for best speaker so far.
